The Championship winning Bolton reserve side kick off their season this evening when they take on local rivals Manchester City in the Manchester Senior Cup tie at the Sport City Stadium in Manchester.

New signings Christian Wilhelmsson and Daniel Braaten appear in the starting line up for Jimmy Phillips side and there are also places for Ali Al-Habsi, Lubomir Michalik, Danny Guthrie and Zoltan Harsanyi.

Andranik is amongst the substitutes and may well get his first taste of action in Bolton colours since representing his country Iran at this summers Asia Cup tournament.

Opponents City are the current holders of this tournament having defeated arch enemy Manchester United by a 3-1 scoreline at Old Trafford back in May and coach Kenny Jackett will be hoping for a good defence of the trophy.
