Reserves In Lancashire Cup Final Action

The Lancashire Cup Final takes place tonight with Bolton Wanderers reserves looking for a win over near neighbours Blackburn Rovers to gain their first success in this competition for seventeen years

Wanderers have won this competition eleven times in their history with the latest successes coming in 1988 and 1990 when former England full back Phil Neal was in charge of the club.

Bolton stopped taking part in the competition in 1993 after a 3-1 defeat against Blackpool but they returned in the 2004-2005 season when the competition was revamped.

If they manage to defeat Blackburn then it will be a second successive trophy for Jimmy Phillips men to add to that of the 2007 FA Premier Reserve League North trophy.

The game will take place at the Lancashire FA headquarters at the County Ground in Leyland.
