Mali international Eric Chelle is being linked with a quartet of Premiership clubs but the main focus for the 29-year old centre half is to concentrate on his football with French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes.

Chelle was born in the Ivory Coast but holds a French passport after spending the whole of his career in France following spells with Martigues and Valenciennes whom he joined in 2003.

He helped his current club to the French Ligue 2 title in 2006 and was was part of the Valenciennes team which consolidated their place in Ligue 1 in the last campaign.

The Wanderers, Reading, Fulham and West Ham have all apparently shown interest in Chelle, and although he is happy to remain in France for the time being, he is refusing to rule out a possible move away.

"I am proud to play for Valenciennes but you can never rule anything out. I'm at a critical stage in my career and many things must be considered." said Chelle when questioned about his future plans.

Meanwhile, Bolton have once again been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy despite already having strengthened the midfield area significantly this summer.
