Goals from Chris Basham and Temitope Obadeyi ensured that Bolton Wanderers reserves ended their season on a high with a 2-1 win away at Lancashire rivals Bury in the Manchester Senior Cup. Wanderers had to come back from a goal behind at Stainton Park after trialist forward Guy Madjo fired the Shakers ahead in the 36th minute when lashing the ball past the visiting goalkeeper Przemyslaw Kazimierzak from close range.

African-born Madjo, who plys his trade for Conference side Stafford Rangers, had full back Nicky Potter and strike partner Domaine Rouse to thank for laying on the goal against the recently crowned FA Premier Reserve League North Champions.

Midfielder Richie Baker could have doubled Bury's advantage within a couple of minutes but his free kick was to skim off the top of the Bolton crossbar and out of play.

Less than a minute after the half time interval, Bolton found themselves back on level terms when Chris Basham's fine run and shot left the Shakers Bolton-born keeper Aaron Grundy totally helpless.

Jordan Stepien then fired over for Bury at the other end and this miss was to prove costly as England youth international Temitope Obadeyi went on to net his third goal of the last two matches on the hour.

Bolton could have put the game out of sight with just over twenty minutes to play when the referee ajudged Bury keeper Grundy to have felled Trotters striker Kevin Wolze in full flight in the penalty box.

Central defender Mark Charlesworth stepped up to take the resulting spot kick but Grundy got down well to deny Wanderers from sticking the final nail in the Shakers coffin.
