Success For Trio On International Front

Bolton trio Nicolas Anelka, El-Hadji Diouf and Tal Ben-Haim all had a successful weekend when representing their respective countries. Anelka celebrated his return to the French starting line up by scoring the only goal in their 1-0 win over Lithuania, whilst club partner Diouf set up two goals as Senegal defeated Tanzania 4-0 in the African Nations Cup qualifier.

Defender Ben-Haim did his chances of a move to a Champions League club no harm at all when putting in a competent display against England's Wayne Rooney as Israel held the Three Lions to a goalless draw.

Rooney has been the thorn in Ben-Haim's side at club level this season but the 24-year old got the better of the Manchester United striker in front of a TV audience of millions.
