Winger Paul Anderson scored the only goal of the game to end Bolton Wanderers reserves recent good form and give Liverpool the points at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground. The former Hull City midfielder confidently fired the ball home past Wanderers keeper Chris Howarth on 62 minutes to help the Reds atone for their defeat against Bolton shortly before Christmas.

Slovakian youngster Zoltan Harsanyi looked the most likely to hit the target for the Trotters but unfortunately they could not build on last weeks draw against Manchester United.

Striker Nabil El-Zhar fired over the crossbar for Liverpool in the first half as did eventual goalscorer Anderson but changes made by home coach Gary Ablett at the break helped the hosts gain the ascendancy.

Next week the Bolton second string travel to Edgeley Park to take on Stockport County in the next phase of the Manchester Senior Cup. This game will now kick off at 7pm and not 7:45pm as previously stated.
