Ex-Wanderers midfielder Gareth Farrelly has failed to win a contract at Leicester City following a recent trial with the Midlands side. The 31-year old is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Irish club Bohemians last summer but City assistant manager Mike Stowell revealed that the Foxes would not be furthering their interest in the player who played for Bolton between 1999 and 2004.

"Gareth joined us just to do a bit of training. He wants to get back into the game, but at his own pace and leisure. By his own admittance he has enjoyed his time here but it is not an option we will be pursuing." said Stowell

Leicester will however continue to run the rule over former Brentford, Reading and Sheffield United striker Carl Asaba.
