Bolton Wanderers reserves are still looking for their first victory of the new campaign after Joe Garner's goal condemned them to another defeat against Blackburn Rovers earlier this evening. Garner curled the ball around Wanderers keeper Ian Walker during early part of the second half for the games only goal but Bolton had the former England international to thank for pulling off a number of good saves late on.

Strikers Chris Basham and Johann Smith briefly threatened for Bolton, with the latter having an equalising goal ruled out by the assistant referee for an apparent offside.

Walker saved well from substitute Martin Olsson, goalscorer Garner and Matt Derbyshire to keep the scoreline respectable as Rovers came out on top in this mini Lancashire derby.
