Sam Allardyce's summer of transfer frustration continues to rumble on as Juan Pablo Sorin becomes the latest player to reject a move to Bolton Wanderers. The Argentine World Cup star was shown around the Reebok Stadium last week and Allardyce was confident that he had manage to land the one time Barcelona star from Villareal.

However the deal to bring the veteran defender to England has stalled meaning that the Bolton boss will now focus his attentions on bringing two or three more additions to the club over the next couple of weeks.

Once such player arriving could be the former Real Madrid and Gimnastic player Alex Perez who has represented the Wanderers in their pre-season friendly matches against Derby County and Recreativo Huelva.

Allardyce had this to say earlier today when revealing that he had missed out on the services of Sorin.

"We were disappointed missing out on the signing of Juan Pablo Sorin, He had a look around the Club and it is a great shame that we failed to acquire such a fantastic player who has played in the World Cup."

"With time running out, Big Sam remains hopeful that he will be able to bring in the targets he needs to strengthen the squad for the forthcoming season."

"I want two or three more new players before the window closes later this month. My efforts are focused in trying to bring in the quality of players we need. There's no doubt about it that time is ticking away. I have never known a season where there has been so much inflation in terms of the price of players. There are so few players available and we have to keep our fingers crossed that we find a gem out there."
