Bolton Wanderers are ready to begin their pre-season tour of Spain with a tough match against Recreativo Huelva later tonight..... Sam Allardyce has a lengthy injury crisis to worry about as Senegal midfielder Abdoulaye Faye became the latest player to pull out of first team involvement with a knee injury.

Faye joins Joey O'Brien, Henrik Pedersen, Kevin Davies, Ricardo Gardner and Nicky Hunt on the list of players who are receiving treatment meaning that Allardyce must now call upon a number of his Academy prospects.

England youth international Robert Sissons and teenage centre half Mark Charlesworth join fellow Academy team mates Nathan Wolfe, Johann Smith, Chris Basham, Jarostaw Fojut and Blazej Augustyn in training with the first team this week.

Many of these young players are likely to see some action throughout the course of the tour as Allardyce has little or no other options available to him. That said the quartet of Fojut, Augustyn, Wolfe and Smith have already tasted action in some capacity in the recent friendlies against Burnley and Derby.

New signing Abdoulaye Meite could be in line to make his first start for the club since signing from Fremch club Olympique Marseille last month.

If the Wanderers manage to claim a victory against Huelva then they will play on Thursday evening against either Sporting Lisbon of Portugal or UEFA Cup winners Sevilla.
