Gerard Houllier is ready to host his first media conference in nearly six months.

The Liverpool chief will give a briefing at Anfield ahead of the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Houllier's presence at the conference is an indication of him taking another step towards resuming full managerial duties.

He has been recuperating following major heart surgery after being taken ill at the home game against Leeds on October 13.

He has been quietly working his way back at Anfield and has been regularly attending training sessions in recent weeks.
