Blackburn took the lead when a Damien Duff cross, a Liverpool target, was met by the left foot of David Dunn.
It took Liverpool 14 mins to get an equaliser and it came from Danny Murphy. A screaming right foot shot from 12 yards sizzled past ex pool keeper Brad Friedal.
After half time, Liverpool went in front thanks to a fantastic looping header from none other than John Arne Riise. A mistake by Tugay allowed Smicer space to cross for Riise to head the ball over Friedal.
Liverpool were dealt a blow when substitute Grabbi fired a header past the helpless Dudek.
A good game and a point was probably a fair reflection.
