West Ham want Southampton star Nigel Quashie. Saints boss Harry Redknapp is desperate to hold on to the 26 year old Scot but Hammers boss Alan Pardew needs experience to boost his young midfield.
Pardew is also keeping tabs on Bastia midfielder Pascal Chimbonda.

Charlton Athletic left back Paul Konchesky is wanted by West Ham but Fulham and Celtic are also interested.

Konchesky is unsettled at the valley and wants to leave with the Addicks ready to do business at £1.5million.

The Hammers fan would jump at the chance of a switch to Upton Park. Pardew has already tried to land Phil Neville from Manchester United without any success.

Former Arsenal youngster Jay Bothroyd who was on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season from Italian club Perugia is another player to interest Pardew.

Sheffield United are steeling themselves to resist an increased West Ham bid for Phil Jagielka.

The Blades won't consider anything less than £4millionfor Jagielka 22 and are determined not to be pushed into a sale.

The paper also suggest that Charlton Athletic are interested as well.

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has told Alan Pardew to forget about signing Phil Jagielka. 

But Warnock who has made no secret of his dislike for Pardew, says Jagielka is not for sale and will snub a premiership move.
