Now I know it's been exciting to be linked with so many names just lately, but there is something reassuring about keeping Christian. He joined in October 2001 after being made surplus to requirements at Blackburn. His signing by Harry Redknapp followed Rio Ferdinand's departure and although Redknapp blew most of that cash on players not commited to West Ham the same would not apply to Dailly.

Although his performances in our relegation season were not the highlights of his career he has been loyal throughout even taking a pay cut to help the club, something which is not always the norm in todays football.

His performances since then have improved greatly with Dailly a vital component in set pieces, unfortunately this past season has been a struggle because of a knee injury sustained in September.

His experience will be vital for the club over the next season, and will provide the necessary competition for Elliot Ward and Anton Ferdinand along with the as expected new defensive signing(s).

Speaking on www.whufc.com Dailly said "It's great to have re-signed with West Ham United," he exclaimed. "It's been a difficult season for me on and off the pitch, but all I want to do is play football for this Club and I'm delighted that I'll be able to continue to do that in the Premier League next season".
