Anything happening in the SPL apart from Rangers

Following the media in Scotland you would think there is only one story in town, Rangers, but the other clubs are going about their business getting ready for next season.

Aberdeen– they have a wee comic story going at the moment on whether they have signed Johnny Hayes. The club put out a statement on their website saying theInvernessman had signed on. The player then tweeted he was on holiday and hadn’t decided his future yet!!

Celtic – they have agreed to play a friendly against Real Madrid in theUSA, as week after the SPL season starts, but haven’t agreed with the SPL an exemption from the second week on fixtures. So much for their love of sporting integrity!

Hearts – Paulo Sergio is still waiting to hear if he will be given a new contract to manager the club, which in the meantime puts any team building on hold….

Hibs – looks as though they are going to keep at least one of last season’s squad who were out of contract, with keeper Mark Brown being handed a new deal. I also noticed Leigh Griffiths saying he wants to give it a go at Wolves, a clear admission he is not welcome back at Easter Rd.

Inverness– going to be another long summer for the highlanders, they have already lost Tansey and Tade, with Hayes also likely to go its another rebuild for Terry Butcher.

Kilmarnock – Killie seem overjoyed at keeping Kenny Shiels as manager, may have to watch what they have wished for given his League record.

Motherwell – slowly signing up everyone they want to keep, Hammell, Lasley and Hollis staying atFirPark. While Clancy has knocked back terms, they are only waiting on news from Steven Jennings before they know where they need to add players to their squad.

St. Johnstone – two new signings, Gregory Tade and Gary Miller, fromInvernessand Ross Co respectively wouldn’t set my pulses racing….

St.Mirren and Dundee Utd – haven’t noticed much going on!

Ross County – They appear to be slowly but surely re-signing all of last season’s squad and could be set for a decent tilt at the SPL
