Scottish Cup Final excitement starts to build

Hearts v Hibs

The All Edinburgh Scottish Cup Final is now only three days away and nerves are fraying for both sets of fans.

While both sets of fans are delighted to be in the final, but they are all fearing this could either be the best day of their lives if they win, but the worst if the lose.

Hearts fans at least have recent memories of winning the Scottish Cup, having beatenGretnaon penalties only six years ago. On the other hand there is no one alive who will remember when Hibs last won the Cup 110 years ago.

As always happens when we get towards a Cup Final not involving the Old Firm fans are travelling from all over the world to take in this unique occasion. With fans travelling from North America, Africa and as far afield asAustraliato make the game at Hampden.

When the teams won their respective semi finals hearts would have been odds on favourites but Hibs have held their nerve in recent weeks to avoid relegation and could now be a different prospect as the game comes round.

The key on field battle will be fought by tow players who may not be at either club next season. Craig Beattie of Hearts will have to get the better of James McPake of Hibs for the Jambos to win the Cup.

At least the Cup Final is allowing us to talk about football rather than the off field problems at Ibrox, until Monday anyway!
