Cousin

It looks as though as Rangers are desperate to turn the clock back to another desperate time by signing former striker Daniel Cousin

With things looking bleak off the field, with all sorts of financial pressures building Rangers are struggling to find a striker on the pitch. This has led them to look backwards and appear to be on the brink of signing former Striker Daniel Cousin.

Cousin was first at Ibrox in 2007/08 and was never really accepted by the Rangers fans. If you look at his record as a Rangers players that is a bit of a surprise as he managed to scored 12 in 44 appearances, although many of them were from the bench.

He won a move to HullCitywho has just been promoted to the Premiership in England, but injuries hampered his process down there. Since then he has spent time in Greeceand then back home in Gabon, but was released by Sapins on January 31^st which allows him to make the move to Ibrox.

While you can argue his record was decent the last time he was at Ibrox that was four years ago, and he is now 35 and not getting any younger. This could see Rangers line up with a striker partnership which adds up to 67 years, if Cousin partners 32 year old David Healy!

This is a far cry from the heady days of the likes of Negri, Mols, Boyd and even the recently departed Jelavic. How will the Rangers fans react to this, they turned their back on their team on Sunday with only 18000 turning up for their cup tie with Dundee Utd. Will season tickets sales plummet, giving even more financial issues as Craig Whyte has already borrowed against these sales!
