Hearts striker John Sutton has agreed a move to A-League Leaders Gold Coast Mariners.

John Sutton has been forced to make his second move in a matter of only six months after his spell at Hearts hasn’t worked out the way he might have expected. I guess this just confirms when you go to Hearts you can only expect the unexpected.

28 year old Sutton was at the peak of his powers with Motherwell when he moved to Hearts in the summer when his contract atFirParkran out. His move to Hearts would have been financially worthwhile as he looked to find security for his young family.

He started well under the manager who signed him, Jim Jeffries, but soon dropped out of the first team when he was replaced by Paulo Sergio. It has been clear ever since then he would not be considered a long term part of the manager’s plans.

This is what has led to him agreeing a four month loan move to the A-League leaders, although he has claimed he has not given up on a return to Hearts and that is where his future lies.

All of this sounds like madness to me, if I was Sutton I would be glad to have escaped Tynecastle and use the time inAustraliato find a new club once again. Hopefully this time one that can bring the financial stability he is looking for while at the same time giving him the chance to play on a regular basis once again.
