The SFA fast track appeal team have upheld the decision to give Rangers Sone Aluko a two match ban for a dive last Saturday.

Aluko was deemed to have dived to have won his side a penalty againstDunfermlinelast Saturday to help his side to a 2-1 win. As a result he was handed a two match ban by the SFA compliance officer which Rangers appealed.

 

The appeal has been thrown out today and the two match ban stands and justice has been seen to be done. As I said earlier in the week there was no doubt Aluko had gone down easily and there was no grounds for Rangers appeal.

 

Thankfully the Fast Track process has worked on this occasion, bit it does leave a bit of a debate over the two match suspension given to the Pars boss Jim McIntyre for his comments about the ref after the game.

 

Surely this decisions backs up the comments he made and proves them to be correct. It seems the SFA have had their cake and eaten it here.

 

Then there is, as always, the question about the role of the ref in these decisions. There never seems to be any public statement on the punishment for the one person who has made a really poor decision on the day.
