Hibs Garry O’Connor fires Hibs to first home win of the season as they see off Saint Johnston, is this enough to get a Scotland call up.

Garry O’Connor kept up his recent excellent scoring form with two more goals tonight, in his side’s 3-2 win over St. Johnstone, taking his season tally to ten.

 

Many are wondering if this is enough to earn him aScotlandcall up for the Leichtenstein and Spain Euro qualifiers, others feel his off field problems will keep him out.

 

To score ten goals the way Hibs have been playing this season says a lot for O’Connor and his ability to snap up a chance.

 

Unfortunately his court case for possession of cocaine will hold him back until it is settled in February.

 

His form, alongside the lively Leigh Griffiths, has now seen Hibs go five games unbeaten in League Cup, which also seems to have coincided with the appointment of Billy Brown as assistant to Colin Calderwood.

 

Hibs are not out the bit yet but they are starting to creep up the League table, and on current form they will not be worrying about relegation this season after all.

 

Hibs were ahead thanks to a goal from Sproule in 17 minutes but Liam Craig equalised two minutes later. O’Connor’s first put the Hibees ahead before the break, and a second half penalty made it three one. Cillian Sheridan scored his third goal in two games to make it interesting towards the end of the game.
