There has been good and bad news for Motherwell today, they have completed the signing of Omar Daley but heard Shaun Hutchinson will be out for up to 8 weeks.

Young defenderHutchinsonwent over on his ankle during Saturday’s game with Celtic and it has been announced he will be about for about 8 weeks. The youngster seems to be fated never to get his career underway properly.

After bursting into the team under Jim Gannon a couple of seasons ago he was out for almost 18 months with a viral illness before getting back into the side when Mark Reynolds moved toSheffieldWednesday last January.

He started this season in fine form once again at the heart of the Well defence alongside Stephen Craigan. But his career has once again stalled due to injury, hopefully he will get over this and fulfil his potential on a longer term basis.

On the plus side Well added to their wafer thin squad today by adding Jamaican international Omar Daley. Daley had previously worked with Stuart McCall atBradfordCityand was snapped up by the Well boss as back up in midfield and up front.

Daley has previously played for Portmore United in his home land, Charleston Battery inAmericaand thenBradfordCitybefore this move to Motherwell.

He has been capped 64 times forJamaicascoring seven times. He has now received all the paper work to allow him to play inScotlandand will be in the Motherwell squad ahead of a busy week atFirPark.
