After missing out on a couple of their first two signing targets Rangers keep trying with two more being highlighted today, but will they meet the correct valuation?

After missing out on Tomer Hemed and Craig Conway, and forcing new owner Craig Whyte to come out and tell the Rangers fans not to panic the Ibrox club are now in the market for two more targets.

The first was David Goodwillie from Dundee Utd, but with the Tannadice club looking for £2 million to prise the Scotland Under 21 striker from their grasp. Whyte has already admitted this is away above the valuation they would put on the player.

This seems typical of the dealings the Old Firm have with the rest of the SPL. They want to take all of the players from the competitors on the cheap and then complain about the lack of competition!

I only hope United hold out for the money they are looking for and show the rest of the sides how it’s done.

The next club to be insulted by a derisory Old Firm offer is Hearts who are thought to have been offered £300000 for full back Lee Wallace. Once again their bid is likely to be rejected with the Tynecastle club looking for more than this for the Scotland International who has a year left on his contract.

Some day Rangers and Celtic will have to show some respect to the other sides and at least pay them what their players are worth! Does all this show that Rangers do not have the money their fans were hoping for and this could lead to them shopping in the bargain basement.
