There has been some mixed reaction to Neil Lennon’s gestures after the game this afternoon, was he right or wrong?

As soon as the final whistle blew Lennon ran on to the pitch to celebrate with his players, and then take the acclaim of the Celtic fans. All of this seems fair enough to me and quite acceptable.

 

Then as he headed back to the tunnel he was booed by the Rangers fans but he chose to react by placing his hands to his ears which of course wound them up even further.

 

In different times I would have said this was fair enough and a good reaction to the idiots in three of the Stands, but given what has happened this week it may have been better to have kept his head down and head straight back to the dressing room.

 

In some respects it shows a lack of dignity when on top, I know they didn’t win but they did put a big dent in Rangers hopes of winning the title. I think it is harmless enough but I think it does sum up the man that he can’t just leave the field without attempting to wind up the Rangers support.

He honestly needs to think what he does. Over and above the fans in the stands, there are millions watching and he goes and does that. Why not just rise above the taunts and walk off the pitch instead of acting like a teenager, he needs to act like a manager and behave as a role model.

Neil Lennon has done nothing wrong here.
He is a man who has been targeted for being a successful Irish / catholic / Celtic footballer / manager.
Putting aside the distasteful episodes of last week he walks off the field at Ibrox and is booed by the Rangers support ??
So the question is who started this incident - Clearly the Bigoted and Sectarian Rangers support.
THEY then claim he is out of order for raising his hands to his ears to say`Yes I hear you but I will not be intimidated by you `!
You couldnt make it up.
Rangers as a club and their supporters deserve all they get !
