Celtic and Rangers collide again at Hampden tomorrow this time in the Cooperative Insurance League Cup Final.

This will be the sixth of seven meetings of the two Glasgow giants this season, with Celtic holding the edge at the moment. They have met thirteen times in the League Cup final with Rangers holding the edge in this stat, having won 8 to Celtic’s five.

Although the last time the two met in the semi final was two years ago with Celtic winning by two goals to nil, with O’Dea and McGeady scoring in extra time for the hoops.

Both sides had games in midweek with Celtic progressing to the Semi Final of the Scottish Cup and therefore keeping their treble hopes alive. While Rangers lost to PSC Eindhoven leaving them fight on two fronts.

Rangers were left with injury worries after their Europa League exit with Bartley limping out, and Lafferty and Weiss also doubtful following the game. This is on top of McCulloch, Ness and Broadfoot all already missing.

This will be a real test of Walter Smith’s squad as he looks to halt Celtic’s march to the treble.

Over at Celtic Park they have different selection worries with Brown and Wilson back from suspension and Majstorovic missing out through injury, leaving Neil Lennon a positive selection head ache.

Everyone at Hampden will be hoping the game is remembered for the football on the pitch rather than for any off field shenanigans like the recent Scottish Cup replay.

Neil Lennon will be banned from the technical area which may help calm things down a bit, but it will interesting to see how feisty it is on the park.
