Saints Cup tie with Thistle off for the second time.

The fifth round Scottish Cup tie between St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle was called off for the second time today, as there is more trouble with the McDiarmid Park pitch.

The game was called off today BEFORE the planned inspection at lunch time due to snow on the pitch, and they are trying to play the game again tomorrow BUT that is already subject to a pitch inspection already.

I know there is a bit of a backlog already, but surely there is no rush to play the game after only 24 hours when there is a doubt about the pitch already. The game will also clash with the Scotland v N. Ireland game which is on TV.

Surely there needs to be a bit of common sense here, it could even have been moved back to Thursday, or played next Monday.

The winners of this tie will take on Brechin at Glebe Park in the Quarter Final.

The Saints are having major problems getting games on this year having lost games to frost, snow, snow in the surrounds, waterlogging! Other teams have already been hauled ver the coals for this type of performance.
