Supporters Direct today have published the results of their findings on the fans survey they have been running on the future of our game.
With the SPL due to meet tomorrow to discuss the proposed change to a ten team League this survey of close to 5000 fans shows that there is no appetite for a smaller League.
88% of those surveyed showed they would prefer a larger, expanded top division rather than the reduction to a team League. Many remember the last time we had a top ten League when the football was awful (Although probably better than it is now!) and riddled with fear.
There is some support for an earlier start to the season and a winter break as well as play offs for promotion and relegation.
As with all supporters surveys there is a demand for greater supporter involvement in decision making, and even a move for representation at the SFA.
Hopefully the people in power will listen and at least postpone any decision on the matter until full discussion has taken place and all interested parties consulted. Not just the Old Firm and the Television companies, who appear to be the ones everyone is bending over to satisfy.
