Hartley sees red

Celtic moved to the top of the League with a nine goal hammering of Aberdeen, while Dundee Utd, Motherwell and Kilmarnock all won away from home.

Celtic v Aberdeen

More pressure was heaped on Mark McGhee this afternoon as his Aberdeen side were humbled nine nil at Celtic Park this afternoon.

There was little sign of what was about to come in the opening stages of the game, that was until Paul Hartley was given a red card in the 26^th minute as he gave away a penalty. The spot kick was converted by Anthony Stokes and before the break they were four down with two more from Hooper and another penalty by Stokes.

Even with Celtic down to ten men when Rogne was sent off things got even worse for the Dons. Hooper completed his hat trick after Magennis had made it five with an own goal. Joe Ledley added a seventh before Stokes completed his hat trick and McCourt made it nine with the third penalty of the afternoon.

Inverness v Motherwell

Motherwell strengthened their grip on third place with a fine win at on form Inverness.

Well took the lead from a Gow header from a well worked corner between Humphrey and Hateley. They were two up before the break when a Blackman shot took a huge deflection of Grant Munro.

Motherwell had further chances through Gown and Blackman and were almost made to suffer when Duff scored with fifteen minutes left when his shot from 25 yards beat Randolph.

Well held on to take all three points and send Inverness to fifth in the table.

Hamilton v Dundee Utd

Despite all their off field problems this week United overcame Hamilton at New Douglas Park.

The first half was poor stuff with neither side really creating much of any note, but it was the introduction of David Goodwillie that turned the game.

He scored for the sixth time in seven SPL games, he capitalised on confusion in the home defence to rifle home from 10 yards out.

St. Johnstone v Kilmarnock

Killie continued their excellent run of form with another three nil away from home.

Killie triumphed in convincing fashion again as Michael Duberry deflected Ben Gordon's 36th-minute cross into his own net before Conor Sammon struck seven minutes from time and Liam Kelly added a third in stoppage time.

Cleveland Taylor, a first-half replacement for Murray Davidson, headed on to the top of the bar and hit another effort against the woodwork as Saints struggled in the final third of the pitch and suffered a third straight loss.
