Who is Husbands?

We've been doing a little digging to try and find out more about Michael Husbands. So who is this pacy front man and will he the 4th striker we're looking for. New Page 1

Merse knows him from his Villa days. Reports show that he regularly found the net while playing for the Villa Reserves. Something he is yet to do for a Football League Club.

He's made a total of 21 appearances since 2002, but 17 of these have been from the bench. Almost any report you read will tell you he's injury prone - and to back this up - people are saying that he played for us on Saturday with a broken nose.

He left Villa back in 2002 and joined Southend. He attracted quite a bit of interest at the time but the Shrimpers managed to pip Championship Gillingham to his signature. His progress at Southend was hampered by Knee and Back injuries. Yet their perseverance with such an injury prone player shows that he must have something about him.

The Echo (a local paper in their neck of the woods) described him as being an exciting, pacy striker which could mean that he's being earmarked for the Julian Joachim role.

He left Roots Hall in the summer and spent some time with Bristol Rovers. Reports suggest that they wanted to sign him but finances put a premature end to his stay.

He played for our Reserves on Wednesday and went straight on to the bench for Saturdays game with Yeovil. He came on as a sub for the injured Darren Wrack and gave a fairly good account of himself.

He seems to be just the kind of player we're looking for, so if he can just steer clear of injuries he could soon find himself with a contract.
