CHEAPEST CLUB IN THE COUNTRY?

The results of a recent survey that looked at the costs of being a Premiership fan saw our Midland Rivals Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwhich Albion all at the bottom of the table when it came to what the average supporter spends during the course of a season. This must mean that on a national scale we're well towards the bottom.

We make our biggest savings through travel, while we shouldn't forget the fact that Walsall's admission prices are generous to say the least - so on a national scale we must be one of the cheapest clubs around to watch. 

 

SHUKER STAYS

The continuing speculation around former Walsall man Chris Shuker has come to an end. The tricky front man has signed a new deal and he'll start next season at Oakwell with Barnsley.  

 

RODRIGUES STAYS

Former Walsall man Dani Rodrigues has turned down the chance of top flight Portuguese Football to stay with the South Coast Club. He had been offered terms by Vitoria Guimaraes - who will be playing in next seasons UEFA CUP. 

Bournemouth will be very confident of reaching next seasons play-offs following a strong showing last season and the arrival of more reinforcements this summer. 

 

BRIGHTWELL STILL A MASTER

Ian Brightwell was a member of the Manchester City side that won Sundays North West Masters tournament. The fans favorite scored three goals, including a penalty in the final against arch rivals Manchester United. 

As the Saddlers never get  invited, we have to make do with watching the likes of Kevin Wilson, Don Goodman and David Kelly strutting their stuff for other sides.
