Two of the rumours doing the rounds relate to Chris Westwood and Darren Wrack. There have been developments on both fronts. There is serious talk on the Pools Rival message board that suggests a deal to bring Chris Westwood to Walsall is imminent. This Rumour first surfaced in the Express and Star about a week ago.

Westwood, a former Wolves trainee has been at the Victoria Ground for the past 6 seasons, and featured prominently in their last two promotion pushes. It will be interesting to see how this one develops over the next week or two.

The arrival of Westwood would put an end to the hopes of Rueben Hazell who had been hopeful of securing a trial thanks to his friendship with former team mate and Walsall manager Paul Merson.

Meanwhile, Bradford boss Colin Todd has distanced himself from suggestions that the Bantams had offered Darren Wrack a contract.

The Saddlers are unable to match his current wages, but have put together a new offer which remains on the table. Saturdays Express and Star stated that Preston North End have now joined the ever growing list of Darren Wrack admirers.
