It was always going to be a strange game on the back of a good result at Bristol. We take a look at what people are saying about yesterdays goalless draw with the MK Dons.

WALSALL 0-0 MK DONS

Walsall: Murphy, Wright, Emblen, Roper, Aranalde, Daryl Taylor, Kris Taylor, Osborn (Fryatt 54), Surman (Merson 62), Wrack, Leitao. Unused: Bennett, Broad, Coleman.

Milton Keynes Dons: Baker, Oyedele, Chorley, Pensee-Bilong, Crooks, Small (Kamara 66), Harding, Herve (Palmer 81), Lewington, McLeod, Platt. Unused: Smart, Edds, Rizzo.

Booked: Oyedele (MK Dons) Aranalde (Walsall)

Referee: L Probert

BBC SPORT: "Walsall dominated for long spells, but the Dons should have had a penalty just before half-time when Neil Emblen appeared to bring down Izale McLeod" FULL REPORT

THE MAIL ON SUNDAY: " The Dons might feel hard done by after having a penalty appeal turned down in the first half .. Otherwise there had been precious little action until the final 15 minutes when the Saddlers pressed for a winner"

UPTHESADDLERS: "Paul Merson took the risk today of keeping a winning side and playing the successful 4 5 1 formation used at Bristol City last week. Despite good performances in midfield and dominating possession, it never looked like earning three points today"  Full Report

MK DONS OFFICIAL "Towering defensive displays from skipper Ben Chorley and Michel Pensee-Bilong helped the MK Dons gain a very valuable point at a very cold Bescot Stadium" Full Report

MATCH OVERVIEW:  We got in plenty of good positions but failed to deliver that telling cross or deadly end product. Kris Taylor was the only Walsall player who took the bull by the horns in attacking positions. Taylor could learn his shot shy team mates a few things about having a pop on goal. The 4-5-1 looked solid for about an hour and contributed to another Walsall clean sheet. 4-3-1-2 gave us more attacking options but allowed the Dons more space and a lot more attacking time.

PLAYER RATINGS: Murphy 7, Wright 5, Aranalde 5, Emblen 6, Roper 7, D Taylor 4, Surman 6, Osborn 7, K Taylor 7,  Wrack 6, Leitao 7. Subs: Merson 7, Fryatt 4.
