Paul Merson has told the Express and Star that today is the biggest game of his managerial career. Some might say the biggest game of his career full stop. Merson has played in some high-pressure situations. England vs Argentina at France 98 as a penalty taker. Title and Cup games with Arsenal and the odd promotion and relegation fight with M’boro.

Today we will see just what Merson is made of. If he does fall at this major hurdle in his career, we all know its curtains for Merse the manager.

He also told the E&S that he could well be applying for the post of Rodney Marsh on Sky TV.
