It's been a funny old few months hasn't it? You are given the impossible job of keeping us in the First Division and, despite not managing it, only lost out narrowly and made a lot of friends in the process. You were then, unsurprisingly, given the Managers job permanently in the Summer and proceeded to create a side which, quite frankly, has rapidly gone downhill. Granted they started the season off scoring goals for fun, but they were conceding them as well. A lot of fans were happy about this, as they wanted the kids to be given a chance in the side, thinking that this would be good for the club. He's only learning at the moment, they said, he's bound to make a few mistakes.

Well, you haven't learned, have you? The results are getting worse, apart from a blip against Colchester and Luton and those two results are the only thing keeping us out of the relegation zone. The kids everybody was happy to see playing are slowly disappearing from the side, with the exception of Bennett and Fryatt and Matty looks as if he needs a rest.

You said the League Cup wasn't important and threw that game away. You said the FA Cup was and have now thrown that game away as well. You have created a side that is tactically one dimensional and which every manager in creation will have worked out how to counter by now. What we have is a team and a squad set up to do one thing and one thing only, to show off the fading skills of a fading ex England footballer.

Paul, it just isn't working is it? You really haven't got it have you? I'll tell you what, why don't you do the decent thing and offer Mr Bonser your resignation before he's forced to sack you. It will look better on your cv, should any Chairman be foolish enough to consider you for a Managers job again. At least if you resign now, then go and do a coaching course and learn to do the job properly, there might be a better chance of you working in football again. If not, you can always get a job as a TV pundit, like the other failed managers do.
