Lend a helping hand...

Walsall have experienced the darker side of football, and become a much stronger organisation because of it. When we see others in strife, we must cast our minds back to the dark days of the 1980s and lend a hand. The

The ‘Road to Doncaster’ For City Fans (And Me!)

The 'Road To Doncaster'Following York City's recent successful cycle ride across the Yorkshire Wolds to Hull City back in February (raising almost £1,000 for York's Supporters Trust), a group of York City supporters planned another fundraising cycle ride on the flatter route through the Vale of York to Doncaster in April.

The event will see a number of City supporters bike across to Doncaster's Bell Vue stadium for the fixture between the two teams on Saturday 24 April.

My cousin organised the event, and invited my to join them - saying that I could, if I wanted to, collect sponsors for the Darlington Supporters Trust.  I agreed!

We will be leaving York at approximately 8:30am, and heading through Bishopthorpe, Riccall, Selby, Snaith, and Bentley.  We will be using the mostly off-road Transpennine Trail (Route 65 to Selby, then Route 62 to Doncaster).

Return travel has been organised for the cyclists, who will not be expected to make the reverse journey in the saddle!

All money raised by the York City fans participating will be handed over to the York City Supporters Trust, while whatever I raise, will go the Darlington Supporters Trust.

This is a good way to donate to the Trust without throwing your money into a bucket!  Often people prefer to "sponsor" somebody to do something, rather than just give their money away.  Don't worry about the size of your donations either - every donation or sponsor helps, no matter how much or little!
