Since rumours of a departure began to circulate we have been canvassing opinion on who the new boss should be. We are now down to the final four names who have proved popular with the fans. 

 

Steve Cotterill 
Cotterill has worked at Cheltenham, Stoke and Sunderland and is currently coaching at Leicester City.
Positives Negatives
- Good track record on a tight budget. - Poor reputation amongst fans due to his lack of commitment. 
- Good reputation in the coaching fraternity. - Has never managed a full season in charge of a Division 1 club. 
- Reputation for man-management skills.

David Kelly 
Kelly is a former terrace favorite who is now learning his trade  at Sheffield United.
Positives Negatives
- Popular with the fans.  - Inexperienced
- Would like to manage club.

Paul Merson 
Has made no secret of the fact he wants the Walsall Job. Currently in charge of first team affairs.
Positives Negatives
- Wants the job  - Question over character. 
- Knows the Club well.  - Limited coaching experience

Stuart Pearce 
Pearce is currently coaching at Man City. Believed to have a promising career in management.  
Positives Negatives
- Reputation as a motivator.  - Financially out of our reach? 
- Managerial ambitions  - Lack of managerial experience
