Defender Paul Ritchie is seeking legal advice. It also seems that the player would have been spending next season with us if this hadn't happened.
RITCHIE SEEKS LEGAL ADVICE
THE AGENT OF DEFENDER
PAUL RITCHIE HAS BEEN SPEAKING TO THE EXPRESS AND STAR. AGENT, DAVID BALDWIN HAS
TOLD THE PRESS..
"We're
seeking legal advice and we've contacted the
Professional Footballers' Association, who believe we have got an open and shut
case. it's not like we're trying to negotiate a new contract for Paul. He is
fighting to get a contract that has already been offered"
"If Walsall don't budge on this I
can't see any way they will ever attract a decent player to
the club again. In
my opinion they have set off a hand grenade in their own shop."
Baldwin
also added that Paul feels disappointed considering the amount of effort he has
put in this season. He also hinted at the fact that he was willing to spend next
season with the club until this happened.
He was
also quick to exonerate Colin Lee of any blame saying...."I should stress
that Colin is a completely innocent party in all of
this," this reiterates Lee comments of the weekend when he said they should
speak to someone else at the club about the issue.
The Club did try and
sort the situation out. They offered Ritchie a revised
deal and a pay off, both of which the player rejected. Why should he turn
down what he is entitled to?
These events are
leading fans to question what kind of state our finances are in...
