New signing Mario Lopez Soler was on hand to give a match winning performance in a 2-1 victory over Preston North End.

Lopez has signed on a non-contract basis and went straight in to the reserve team for the Preston game.

Preston opened the scoring early on thanks to a Matt Jackson penalty.

Walsall got back in to the game just before half time with a Jamie Lawrence goal, while a classy finish from Lopez Soler just after the break was the eventual winner. It was a stunning goal from the Spaniard who showed good composure, before beating the Preston Keeper from the edge of the box.
