The rumours surrounding the future of Vinny Samways have been confirmed by the player.

Samways told the Express and Star

"I've got to have a chat with the manager, but whatever happens it's nothing to do with football. It's to do with my family situation, but nothing is guaranteed at the moment."

"I've got an agreement with Colin and I really appreciate what he's allowed me to do in terms of travelling backwards and forwards to Spain," 

"I couldn't have asked any more from him because he's been absolutely brilliant for me, but we'll see how things go now. It's not to do with football because I really love playing here, but it's to do with my family. I don't want to stop altogether and if I did go back to Spain it would be to carry on playing.

"I've got a possibility out there, but until the situation is sorted out with Walsall, which isn't 100 per cent, then nothing can really be done."

Samways has been one of our key players this season, and is a real contender for the player of the season award. To lose him would be a disaster. It would leave a massive hole in our midfield, he is irreplaceable. 

He is a steadying influence on our midfield and plays a key role in the style of football we play. Lets hope Lee can persuade him to stay on till at least the end of the season.

It is a well known fact there is no money available to replace him should he leave.
