Matty Fryatt got his first league goal for Carlisle on Saturday. We have a look at the impression he has made at Brunton Park.

Matty Fryatt continues to make a good impression on the Carlisle United Fans. Fryatt grabbed the winner in the Cumbrians 2-1 victory of Boston on Saturday. Fryatt headed home a  Brendan McGill cross after 60 minutes.

Fryatt's arrival at Carlisle has coincided with the them picking up 10 points out of a possible 12 in recent weeks. 

They are still at the bottom of the table, 9 points away from safety, but there recent up turn in form is certainly encouraging.

ecw4life - 3/1/04 - This lad is only get better playing alongside the experience of someone like Andy Preece, playing in Walsall reserves will do nothing for his career. Plus we definitely benefit from a mobile and keen forward, someone who doesn't let his head drop if he loses possession (Mr Foran take note). Get him signed on for another month immediately.

sicknote - 3/1/04 - Agreed, this player has bundles of promise. Some of his enterprising play down the right in the second half was positive and clever. At 17 he is often out muscled and will occasionally drift from the game. That is to be expected but he is still a marked improvement on our recent gaggle of goal-shy plodders. We must always be wary of heaping too much expectation on this young man's shoulders, but all the signs are that he is willing to take responsibility and shoulder his share of the burden. Congratulations to him today and here's hoping it is the start of even better things. Foran take note, indeed.
