Where do we stand with strikers? Lee has spoken on the issue. It seems like Birch is first choice.

The reason that Deon Burton was absent last night has been revealed - he picked up a neck injury. Burton is on a months loan and this is his chance to get in the shop window, and hopefully pick up a deal here or elsewhere.  

Colin Lee took time to comment on the striking situation by saying....

"Deon is touch and go for Saturday but Gary has earned his place in the team and scored a goal so he's got the shirt at the moment"

Birch who got his first goal of the season last night is now in poll position, as Lee went on to say...

"He was exceptional. When he went off, Leitao came on and didn't affect the game"

So it seems like Jorge is certainly out of sorts, and if Lee decides to go with one man up on Saturday he could find himself being the 3rd choice striker behind Birchy and Burton.

Is this the way to motivate Jorge. Leaving him out? or will it just knock his confidence is to tatters. Who knows. Let us know your views on the forum.
