Steve Kember has commented on Adi Akinbiyi's ambition to succeed at Palace. Is he heading for the exit door, and will it be for us or someone else?
It appears that Eagles boss Steve Kember is becoming increasingly disgruntled with Walsall target Adi Akinbiyi
Steve Kember has been talking to Sporting Life about the players ambition.
"To a certain extent i think its down to the player showing people he still wants to play football. You've got to weigh up the financial implications for yourself but your football career isnt that long and there comes a time when you to decided whether you to play or not. That's down to each players personal ambition."
Does this mean that Palace are keen to get shut of Akinbiyi. Walsall and Stoke have been after some kind of deal over the Summer.. He played for Lee and Wolves and Pulis at Bristol, so neither club has the edge. It seems as though Palace are getting fed up with him, and the signals suggest he is edging ever nearer to the exit door.
So what if a move does materialise how will it happen......
- Loan - We pay a proportion of his wages.
- Transfer - Palace release him / pay him up - He takes a pay cut
- Transfer - A Merson like arrangement with Palace and us paying him.
Although this is pure speculation, Lee desperately needs a striker and if he can bring a quality player like Adi to the Bescot he will.
