Carbon Quits

It's one shock after another at Bescot Stadium, as Matt Carbon announces he's quitting football, at least for the time being, and leaves the club. The official site has announced that agreement has been reached with Matt Carbon to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

Matt is quoted as saying that he wanted to take a break from professional football to take stock and consider his options.

There has alwasy been the feeling that Carbon's problems while at the club have not being physical, but mental, and this suggests that he may the third player in a week to say he's had enough of the game and does not have the enthusiasm any more.

Carbon will be a great loss on the field, however, where he has been a good performer for us during his stint here.

This makes Lee's search for another centre back critical.
