Roy Whalley has spoken about the possible changes to the Nationwide League and strongly backs the plans to relegate those who do not manage their finances sensible.

Whalley told the press "We could go bonkers and start lashing out money and build a fancy new stadium and go £50 million in debt"

"Walsall is a club that lives within its means. We honour our obligations and we pay our creditors, and we feel clubs that don't are engaging in a form of cheating"

Whalley's view is a very well known one, and one that the majority of Saddlers fans back. The Express and Star reports that West Bromwhich Albion will also be backing the plans to punish those who go in to administration.

Other issues being debated at this weeks League AGM include....

  • Expanding the play-offs (WFC Against it)

  • Lowering the minimum capacity from 6 to 4000 for new league clubs.

  • £120k parachute payment if relegated from Div 1. 50k for Div 2.
