Danny Hay took his first steps to regaining full match fitness as he played the last 20 minutes of New Zealand's Confederations Cup warm up game against Virginia Beach (equivalent of a non league American team).

The Kiwis won the game 2-0, and it is a real boost for Hay who only managed to warm the bench against the Scots last week. 

Hay who is reported to have attracted interest from Crewe Alexander, is expected to take up a spot at the heart of the Kiwi defence during their Confederations Cup Campaign.
