Walsall Youth Web Site Closes

Following the publicity given to the "Walsall Youth" site, it has shut down, temporarily. The club have also made a statement on what they have done. Following the publicity given to the "Walsall Youth" site by posters on UTS and on this site, it appears to have closed down today.

The only thing showing now is an "Under Contstruction" message and the message board, old postings having been archived.

Andrew Poole has also said what action the club had taken:-

"Walsall FC have logged a complaint with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).
They have been in touch with us this morning to confirm that they are looking into our complaint and will keep us updated on progress made.

As you know, we have already taken up the matter with the West Midlands Police. The IWF work closely alongside the Police, so I would suggest that you take a look at their Web-site and maybe ask fellow supporters to direct complaints via them. The address is www.iwf.org.uk

Thanks for your efforts in highlighting this problem, hopefully it will be resolved in the not too distant future".

He has kindly given permission to quote his email.

The site is bound to reappear in some form or another, but the complaints to the IWF and the ISP seem to be the route to take in the future.

What this doesn't do, of course, is rid us of the people responsible. The Trust and interested supporters are looking at ways we can improve the reputation of the club in the future and try to rid ourselves of this small unwanted element among the fans.
