Today's Express and Star is
suggesting that Walsall's Samba Star Junior will be at the Bescot Stadium
next season
Now that this seasons formalities
are all but over Lee is turning his attention to sorting out next
seasons squad and Junior has done more than enough to warrant an offer for
next season.
Lee told the E&S that Junior
wants to stay and that he has been made an offer. It is now in the player
hands, and if he wants to stay it all sounds simple.
The Saddlers have had their fingers
burnt South Americans in the past, most notably when Gino Padula won
the player of the season award and then turned up at the JJB Stadium
instead of the Bescot for pre season training !
Despite Bica, Herivelto, Otta and
Padula all failing to settle in Walsall Junior has shown that South
Americans can cope with the Walsall way of life ! He has been willing to
change his style of play, and we now see him chasing back, putting his
foot in and TRYING to win headers.
His goal against Preston is regarded
as being the best since Boli's bicycle kick , and he has weighed in with
some crucial goals this season, and non more important than Saturdays
winner against Grimsby Town.
Junior should feel right at home in
Walsall after striking up a good relationship with Jorge Leitao both on
and off the pitch. The dressing room has had a real continental flavour
ever since we moved to the Bescot Stadium, and Junior shouldn't feel to
homesick in their.
Will he stay ? Will he go ? Will he
turn up when he is meant to ? Will he like our offer ? Will Lee wait
around for an answer (He doesn't like waiting)..... We will just have to
wait and see.......but all parties are making the right kind of noises.
