Reserves crash at Tranmere

A Walsall reserve side containing senior players Tony Barras, Danny Hay, Gavin Ward and Zdrilic failed to overcome a struggling Tranmere side last night, as they crashed out 3-1 losers on Merseyside.

The first goal came on 32 minutes when Tranmere failed to deal with a well taken free kick from Craig Stanley, which resulted in Gary Birch netting the opener for the Saddlers

Tranmere soon got back in to the game on a stroke of half time thanks to a simple Andy Parkinson goal.

That was it as far as goals were concerned until the final 15 minutes when Jamie McGuire scored two goals to win the game for Tranmere. By all account Maguire had taken his chances well and the Saddlers deserved to leave the field defeated.
