Sonner's Frustration.

Earlier this week Danny Sonner told the express and star

"I have been fit for three or four weeks now, but I am nowhere near the first team at the moment. I'm gutted because I just want get out there and play."(Full Story)

But, It now seems that Danny is certain to get his chance with Robinson and O'Connor facing suspensions following their dismals at Crystal Palace.

Sonner has struggled to have a run in the first team since Christmas, and has subsequently battled against an Achilles injury that has kept him out of the reckoning.Stories have surfaced regarding Stoke City's interest in the Northern Ireland international, but nothing else has come of this, and he seems certain to stay at the Bescot until the Summer at least.

It is strange that he has fell out of favour with Lee, especially when you consider he has a good  pedigree at this level and his performances (most of all against Portsmouth) were showing signs of improvement as the season went on.

Reports are today are suggesting that Colin Lee and Carl Robinson are hoping that Julian Gray can get the loanee midfielder off the hook, after Lee told the Birmingham Mail that -

" Julian Gray has apparently said he was caught only by Carl's fingers, not his elbow. If he will speak on his behalf, we may have a chance of doing something" (Full story)

The likelihood of Robinson getting off are uncertain, after all, we have hardly had much luck with appeals this season, but what remains certain is Sonner's eagerness to help our push for survival. 

He should get his chance in the coming weeks, and it will  up to him to show Lee what he has been missing out on. Hopefully for us, it is a lot, and his hunger will be an important factor in our survival.
