In the interests of clarity, this is to stop the site going down again, so apologies for the banal drivel you may be about to read.

And while it may be banal to some, it was a very good game to watch from a Coventry point of view.

I'm not a fan of travelling to Harpury, truth be told, if only because it doesn't *feel* like a rugby club, although there were plenty of people there to watch Coventry pretty much demolish the Hartpury side, shorn as they were of their Gloucester contingent because they played Harlequins (and stuffed them like we should have) on Friday night.

We started well, to be fair, though Hartpury had more than their share of possession, the Cov defence went at them again and again and stopped them from getting to the try line without first committing some offence.  Our lineout functioned as well as anyone could have expected it to after last week's blip, and it has to be said that James Tyas as lineout captain has made a huge difference.

Although we were short of a couple of more experienced players in Tiki, the international Pat P and Matt K, their successors performed as well as the experienced boys could have and one wonders if we have a squad of 30 players who, positional experience aside, could be swapped in and out without detriment to the team.  I though Evan Mitchell played out of his skin, and if he maintains that level of performance, he may be challenging if my worst fears are realised and PP is tempted away to a premiership bench after his masterclasses against premiership opposition.

Look - the result speaks for itself 19 - 35, but really Hartpury were awarded a penalty try (no question over that either) which is an automatic seven points on the board, but 19 points overall, in my opinion, flattered them a bit.  

This team is special.  It has the makings of a side that could achieve a top 3 position - and I'm not going to speculate, but that could be any of the top three places, given the right environment on the right day.

Nottingham this week who are still struggling to get a win, and then Gloucester who made monkeys out of 'Quins on Friday.  They appear to be taking the competition very seriously, so we'll see what happens when we fo down there in a couple of week.

Lots of love to the travelling fans who made the (extended) trip thanks to a satnav blunder by the coach company, but we got there.  We played, we won and it's another W in the column.

Well done the players and the coaching staff - clearly done all their homework - we are so very proud of what you're doing and the way you're playing.

Thanks again for loading this.

As an aside, having been taken offline this morning after two weeks (allegedly the regulation update period max) it was interesting to scan the rest of the Sportnetwork sites checking for their compliance.
All were well within the two weeks...
Except London Irish, Worcester, and Wasps, all of which are massively past their required update spell, and were still online with no sanction applied.
It seems if you go bust that's ok.
A metaphor for rugby union in this country perhaps?

(It also seems odd that LI are still listed as a Prem club, but hey).

As i have said many times before thank you so much for keeping this site going. It really is a lifeline of information for our Team.Many people like myself don't do Twitter Facebook etc many thanks again looking forward to Saturday com on Cov cheers Colin.

Wasps barely have a pulse and their site never or rarely has such articles.... But never seems to be taken down. It is a bizarrely run platform

Wasps was last updated in May (Wuss even earlier).
When I challenged Jon at Sportnetwork about this he said that some sites were given leniency due to their admins having informed him that they were going on holiday and wouldn't be able to update.
Yes, he said that.
