The first two pre-season friendlies have now been announced.
And, no surprises, the first to break cover is this year's edition of the long-standing series against old friends and foes, Moseley.
This year, the match takes place in Birmingham, with a kick-off at 7.45 on the 25th of August at Billesley Common. With both clubs celebrating 150 years of history, there's even more pride at stake than usual.
Almost a week earlier, this time at the Butts Park Arena, Cov host newly-promoted Leicester Lions for the first time.
Lions will play at their highest ever level next season - National League One, and the Blaby-based club will be keen to assess just how far they are from attaining the next step up.
KO is at 3pm on the 19th of August, with entry cost to be announced, although season-ticket holders will enter for no extra charge.
The game coincides with the Coventry Rugby Beer Festival at the BPA, and includes entry as part of the package for all, and there will be a Rugby Distillery Gin marquee and an offering of Street Food available, and live music following the final whistle. Local breweries Twisted Barrel, Dhillons, and Purity will all be in attendance too.
Would be good if there was another one. I am missing Leicester Lions due to a long standing wedding invitation !
Although I do have to miss away games these days, I do intend to '' tread carefully'' & visit Billesley Common !
The Lions had a warm up against Luctonians last weekend, a four quarter match rather than two halves, in the wind and the rain. Lions won against a tough old Lucts side who might go well in Nat2 W this coming season. No game for the Lions this weekend, looking forward to hearing about the visit to yours a week tomorrow.
Keep posting folks ! As mentioned earlier in the tread I will not make it Saturday, due to a long standing commitment, so will look forward to reading others thoughts post match.
Cmon Cov !
I note Leicester Tiger Cub Simon Koroiyadi is in the side, not sure if he has signed or if he is on loan.
Satala is a young winger also, I believe from the Tigers academy project.
